I hope you and your families have enjoyed your 4th of July weekend!
It is humbling to reflect upon the group of leaders that in 1776 signed the Declaration of Independence to declare their determination for a free country. As is still true, the first years of our nation were not free from problems or controversial issues. But their and others' fortitude to establish and uphold a free and democratic system of government is noble. I am thankful for the wisdom, faith and courage of those early leaders of our country.
Notes from the Farm
As is characteristic of this time of year, it has been hot! We are thankful for the evaporative cooling designs and high airflow ventilation we have within our climate controlled hog facilities to keep our pigs as comfortable as possible. We work to provide our sheep with shade and adequate water, though originating as desert animals they hold up pretty well. Our broiler chickens actually seems to thrive with the heat and continue to grow at an astounding pace. After work we find ourselves many times cooling down in one of our farm ponds or playing in the sprinkler or on the slip & slide with the kiddos.
Through this video I wanted to share with you some of the highlights of our summer on the farm. Please take a moment to watch and share!
We appreciate your continued confidence in our locally grown meat. Our freezers are well stocked with recently harvested pork, lamb, chicken and Brock Farm beef. Feel free to visit our website any time and place and order for on farm porch pickup!
